UFC on Fuel TV 5 Hayabusa Sponsored Fighters

UFC on Fuel TV 5 Hayabusa Sponsored Fighters

Here Hayabusa Europe would like to congratulate the Hayabusa UFC sponsored fighters who fought in the weekends UFC on Fuel TV 5 event held in Nottingham.

Hayabusa partnered up with Brad Tavares, fighting in his Red Hayabusa Chikara Fight Shorts, and saw him outwrestle British fighter; Tom Watson. The fight ending with a deserved split decision win for Tavares.

Both Jason “Shotgun” Young and Robbie “Problems” Peralta, were sponsored in part by Hayabusa on the night too, with Young fighting in the Red Hayabusa Haburi Compression Shorts and Peralta wearing the Blue Chikara Fight Shorts. It was Peralta who came away with the win in this clash, after landing big looping right hand that dropped Jason Young on his back. Peralta tried to follow up to pounce on Young to rain down further blows as the ref stopped him mid flow.

We wish the best of luck to Stipe Miocic for his future fights. Wearing the Hayabusa Croatian Compression Shorts for his fight against Stefan “The Skyscraper” Struve, he was on the receiving of one too many connecting blows from Struve as the fight was stopped by the ref in the second round, resulting in a TKO win for the giant from the Netherlands.

We offer similar sentiments to Yves ‘Tiger’ Jabouin, who fought in the Red Hayabusa Chikara Fight Shorts, who came away second best on the night to Brad “One Punch” PickettJabouin, who fought impressively, was flawed by Pickett with an uppercut in the first round, Pickett followed with a few blows when Jabouin was down to seal the deal as the ref intervened to call a close to the fight.

For both winners and those who came out second best, we’d like to congratulate all the Hayabusa sponsored fighters on the night once again and wish them the best of luck for future fights.

UFC 142 Preview - Hayabusa Sponsored Fighters

Terry Etim is one of the most well rounded mixed martial artists to ever come out of the UK. Etim possesses a very fluid and dynamic striking game, but the vast majority of his wins have come by submission. With 12 submission wins, and 4 UFC ‘submission of the night’ bonuses, his opponents should think twice before closing the distance with him. Don’t make the mistake of thinking Terry is a one dimensional fighter, as he also has 2 KO’s to his credit and uses a great striking game to control the pace of the fight. Etim is a very experienced fighter and, at the age of 25, has a long and successful career ahead of him.

Terry has won 6 of his last seven and, after his defeat on April 10, 2010, returned to his winning ways on November 5, 2011. The 19 month layoff, due to a serious rib injury, was hard on Etim, but now that he is healthy and back on the winning track, he is looking to make it two in a row and continue his climb to the top of the 155lb division. This time he is going into hostile territory, as he takes on undefeated Brazilian fighter Edson Barboza.

Terry will have to endure the initial blaze of Barboza, as Edson is known to come out hard and fast. Etim hopes to avenge the defeat of fellow countryman Ross Pearson, who lost a hard fought split decision to Barboza at UFC Rio in August 2011. Terry will carry the UK fighting spirit to Rio for his battle against Barboza. Hayabusa is excited to, once again, partner with Terry Etim and wishes him the best of luck in his upcoming lightweight battle.

Hayabusa would also like to wish Antonio Carvalho the best, as he makes his UFC debut at UFC Rio Aldo vs. Mendes. This well-rounded Canadian standout has a vast amount of experience and will look to make an immediate impact in the featherweight division. Carvalho will be competing in the new Haburi Compression Shorts.

Congratulations Alistair Overeem at UFC 141

Congratulations Alistair Overeem at UFC 141

Own a Piece of UFC History: Alistiar Overeem’s UFC 141 Walk Out T-Shirt!

Alistair “The Reem” Overeem predicted he would finish former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar in less than two rounds at UFC 141, and Overeem delivered. Overeem hammered his opponent with knees to the body, but it was a brutal liver kick dropped Lesnar to the canvas.

‘The Reem’ moved in and dropped a series of right hands until the referee stopped the fight. The brief two minutes and 26 seconds of fight time was more than enough for Overeem to prove himself as one of the most devastating strikers in the world to a new legion of fans.

Next up for the new #1 contender is a shot at reigning UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. Hayabusa would like to congratulate Overeem on his dominant performance at UFC 141. A fighter can have only one “first” fight in the Octagon and Overeem made an incredible initial impression on UFC fans.

Overeem’s official UFC 141 Signature Walkout T is the perfect way to own a piece of this historic moment. Get your own official Hayabusa-Overeem UFC 141 Signature Walkout T (available in black or white) from us here at the Official Hayabusa European Online Store.

UFC 140 – Jones vs Machida Preview

Brian “Bad Boy” Ebersole is one of the most interesting fighters in the UFC. Brian is a true veteran of the sport and has over 60 professional fights to his credit.Ebersole possesses a mixed bag of tricks and can devastate his opponents where ever the fight takes place. Brian has 20 wins by submission, so you think he would only be a grappler, but he also has 14 wins by KO, so he’s dangerous in all aspects of MMA. “Bad Boy” has the ability to take you down, choke you out, knee you in the clinch, destroy you on the feet and/or knock you out with a destructive arsenal of punches and kicks. In his last fight, Brian was granted a special “of the night bonus” that everyone was glad he won; “The Thank you for getting those shorts off of TV so quickly” bonus against Dennis HallmanEbersole takes his 9 fight win streak (and winner of 13 of his last 14) into Toronto against hometown boy Claude “The Prince” Patrick. Brian was originally scheduled to face fast-rising star Rory MacDonald, but due to injury that showdown will have to wait for another day. Unless his girlfriend shaves it off again, the “Hairrow” will most likely make its appearance at UFC 140. Brian is an easy going, friendly character and loves to joke, laugh and put out crazy YouTube videos, but when the cage door shuts “Bad Boy” is tough, durable and relentless in his pursuit of victory. At 31 years of age, it is hard to call Brian an up-and-comer, but in the UFC’s welterweight division, that is just what he his. It took Brian a long time, and a lot of fights, to get in the UFC and he is taking every advantage of the opportunity and could possibly work his way up to a “top ten” opponent with a win over Patrick in Toronto. Brian “Bad Boy” Ebersole trains and competes in Hayabusa combat equipment and apparel. Hayabusa is proud of the continued partnership with Brian and, again, wishes him the best of luck in his forthcoming battle.

Constantinos “Costa” Philippou is coming off a hard fought, three round split decision win over Jorge Rivera at UFC 133. That fight gave Philippou his first win in the UFC and now he looks to capitalize on the momentum against Jared Hamman at UFC 140 in Toronto. Constantinos is a former professional boxer with fast, accurate hands and, as he trains with the Serra-Longo Fight Team, an ever improving ground game. “Costa” has only lost once in his last 10 fights (8-1, 1 NC) and the loss was his UFC debut. He has learned from that loss, shaken off the UFC ‘jitters’, got his first win in the UFC and now looks to blaze a destructive path through the Middleweight division. Philippou has the striking skills to keep anyone on their toes and he will need them against Hamman. This fight will be a tough challenge for Constantinos as this is Jared’s second fight at 185, coming down from light heavyweight, so he is a big middleweight. “Costa” will be looking for the finish this time as his last fight was a hard fought split decision victory. Hayabusa is excited to, once again, partner with Constantinos “Costa” Philippou and wishes him the best of luck in this pivotal middleweight contest.

Hayabusa would also like to wish Igor PokrajacYves JabouinMitch Clarke and Jake Hecht the best of luck in their upcoming bouts at UFC 140. These excellent fighters each chose to compete in Hayabusa combat equipment and we wish them the best of luck at UFC 140.

UFC on FX- Browne vs. Bigfoot

Here at Hayabusa UK & Europe we would like to wish the best of luck to the three Hayabusa sponsored fighters competing at the ‘UFC on FX: Browne vs. Bigfoot’event later on tonight.

All three fighters, John ‘The Magician’ DodsonBart ‘Bartimus’ Palaszewski and Phil ‘Billy’ Harris will all be competing in their Hayabusa Chikara Fight Shorts.

The bout between John Dodson and Formiga has been touted as a #1 UFC Flyweight Championship contender match-up.
