Hayabusa “Movember” Moustache Facebook Competition
To get in the spirit of “Movember” this year we’re running our own “Movember Moustache Facebook Competition”!
Three winners will be picked at the end of this month and will be judged by who we think has grown the finest moustaches from those who take part.
The well deserved winners will each win one of the new “Hayabusa Gentleman’s Choice T-Shirts“.
As with all gentlemanly pursuits there are of course rules to play by so take note!
We’ll be playing to the same rules of “Movember” when it comes to growing and grooming your moustache:
Rules
1 – Each entrant must start the competition with a clean shaven face
2 – For the entire month of November, sorry, “Movember”, each entrant must grow and groom a moustache
3 – Beards are not allowed! No joining of your side burns to your moustache is permitted
4 – Don’t even think about growing a goatee either, they have no place in this competition!
5 – You must conduct yourself like a true gent throughout the month, we’ll just have to trust you with this.
On the 30th November, entrants must post their before and after pictures on our Facebook page and we will pick the winners from the finest purveyors of gentleman like moustaches that we have to choose from.

Movember, the month formerly known as November, is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men’s health.
Hayabusa Fightwear have penned a deal with MMA and K1 giant, Alistair Overeem, to produce a set of Alistair Overeem Limited Edition Signature T-Shirts and Alistair Overeem Limited Edition Fight Shorts.
The Signature T-Shirt is set to be the Walk-Out T-Shirt for Overeem’s epic end of year fight with Brock Lesnar at UFC 141 this December.
With release dates slightly behind the US and Canada, The T-Shirts are set to be available for the UK & Europe by the beginning of December and the Shorts with a later expected date of the middle of January 2012.
More specific release dates will be available very soon and we’ll keep everyone updated here and via our Newsletter and Facebook Fan page. Be sure to keep yourself updated as we’re sure the T-Shirts will fly out fast prior to the Overeem vs Lesnar fight and as the name suggests they are a “Limited Edition” range and will only be available while stocks last.
Accepting a fight on short notice can be a difficult task for a fighter. Preparation time, game planning, studying your opponent and weight cutting can make taking a fight on short notice hard. Having the opponent you were scheduled to fight on short notice change two weeks before the event is not easy either. Combine all this with making your UFC début and you have Dustin Jacoby. Jacoby is a product of Finney’s Hit Squad and has been training with some of the best fighters in the world. Dustin is an impressive 6’4” middleweight and boasts a perfect 6-0 record. These credentials make for a very talented prospect, but when you factor in that only one fighter has even made it to the second round with him and you have one of the hottest talents in the 185 lb division.
Jacoby is a finisher and is prepared for the “jitters” of fighting in the UFC for the first time. Dustin was a QB at the college level and feels his nerves will be on point for his début. Jacoby has finished five of his six opponents via (T)KO and the other by submission. His first scheduled opponent for UFC 137 was Brad Tavares, but Tavares ended up getting injured in training. Clifford Sparks has stepped up on short notice to take on Dustin. Jacoby is up to this ever changing challenge and Hayabusa is proud to partner with this rising star. Matt Mitrione is one of the most talked about fighters in the heavyweight division. Matt has some of the quickest hands in the heavyweight division and loves to throw them. Mitrione is as fast as a welterweight and has devastating power in both hands. When you combine the natural athletic talent of a former professional football player with a self-confessed “kinda crazy” mentality, you get a fighter that is very fun to watch.
Mitrione loves the fight game and is always excited to get into the octagon. It is not unusual to see him smiling at his opponent before the fight, but when the bell rings there is no doubt that Matt is ready to fight and his self-professed favourite striking technique is “The punch in the face”. Mitrione is 5-0 with all his professional fights taking place in the UFC. Matt’s only fight to go to decision was against Joey Beltran and Joey has only been finished once in over 20 fights. Matt loves to push the pace and will look to fully engage against his opponent Cheick Kongo. Kongo is riding the momentum of a great comeback KO of Pat Barry and has improved his ground game tremendously. Mitrione is ready for where ever this fight takes place and is not worried about the takedown. Though he would love to keep it on the feet, Matt knows that to be a complete MMA fighter he needs to be able to strike, wrestle and submit people. Mitrione has said that if he gets taken down he will just get back up and if he doesn’t get up he says “I promise, I’ll tap him or I’ll break something, but I’ll get something done.” Matt is incredibly confident and backs up his talk with a natural born talent and love of competition.

UFC 136 Edgar vs Maynard Preview
Melvin Guillard is on a tear. This lightweight standout is riding a five fight win streak and three of those wins have not made it out of the first round. You can always expect fireworks when Melvin steps in the Octagon. Guillard is one of the most athletic fighters on the UFC roster and has, many will agree, some of the best striking skills in the lightweight division. Melvin’s devastating power, lightning fast hands and desire to finish the fight make him a top contender for the 155 lb title. ‘The Young Assassin’ has a tough challenge ahead of him, as his opponent Joe Lauzon looks to keep on the winning track as well. Lauzon has been hot and cold of late, but when he is on his game Joe can be a handful for anyone. Lauzon is a grappling ace and will look to exploit the ‘limited ground game’ of Guillard. Melvin has different plans as his ground game may not be as suspect as some think. Guillard has continued to train at Greg Jackson’s academy in New Mexico and, since his return to Jackson’s, has been undefeated. Melvin’s takedown defence and overall grappling game have improved dramatically. Guillard used to be hesitant to commit fully to his striking because of the chance he might be taken down. Due to the dramatic increase in his grappling and takedown defence, Melvin can now unleash his full destructive power without being concerned about the take down. This is a pivotal fight in his career, as it could be the fight that puts him in line for a #1 contender’s match or even next in line for a title fight. Guillard will be fighting on the same card as Edgar and Maynard, who will be finishing their trilogy for the lightweight title, and he will be paying close attention to the outcome. Melvin, again, has chosen to train and compete in Hayabusa. We are proud of the continued partnership between Melvin Guillard and Hayabusa and we look forward to another great performance from ‘The Young Assassin’.
Jeremy Stephens may not have the “flashy” striking of his opponent Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis, but he throws some of the hardest punches in the lightweight division. Stephens combines this power with a relentless attack, a willingness to engage and a never give up attitude. Jeremy has the heart of a lion and will fully engage for the entire fight. There is no back stepping for this 155 lb slugger. He has had some notable battles and 12 of his wins have come by KO or TKO. Stephens has multiple post fight bonuses for KO of the night (twice) and a fight of the night. Jeremy plans on keeping his two fight winning streak alive and moving up the ladder towards a UFC championship. Nam Phan doesn’t want his fight with Leonard Garcia to go to the judges again. Their last fight ended in a controversial decision win for Garcia, which many people considered a huge mistake. Phan, who most thought won the first fight, has learned to heed the warning, “Never leave it in the hands of the judges” and will be looking to finish the fight. Nam, a former TUF contestant, will use his well-rounded skill set to get back on the winning track. With seven KO’s and five submission wins in his career, Phan is a threat standing or on the ground. In his last fight with Garcia, Nam was baited into a three round brawl which favoured his opponent. This time around Phan will look to utilize more precise striking techniques and avoid the wild, reckless punches that Garcia throws. The ground game will play a big factor as Nam will look to drag Garcia down and either ground and pound or submit him. This is a pivotal fight for Nam as he looks to get back on the winning track and take the next step in his fighting career. Hayabusa wishes Nam Phan the best of luck in his upcoming fight.
